He once would like to be a white-hat (web pentester) years ago. In one of his projects, he found it’s inevitable to get the hang of low-level basics (assembly, binary, runtime etc.) if he wants to learn the state-of-the-art techs or lanch a cutting-edge research himself. At that moment, he decided to dive in to the world of binary, where he found the interests of algo, cryptography and security.

Nowadays, his main interests inlcude

  • Security mechanism of Android and the corresponding exploit techniques
  • Attack surface for all
    • hardware (spectre meltdown, side-channel attack)
    • firmware
    • system (kernel; APIs)
    • mid-level security mechanism (Sandbox, VM, escalating - root)
    • uppder level security vectors (web, misc, crypto etc.)
  • Small and sweet crypto algos
  • Generic cyber defense methodology (forensic, cyber intelligence, APT etc.)
